High End Natural Hair Care: Leonor Greyl Product Review

As I continue on my journey for great products to help maintain my hair I just continue to come across great products. What intrigued me about Leonor Greyl is the long history the company has in natural haircare-being among the first to market products with all natural ingredients for healthy hair. The company founders were also among the first to incorporate vitamins and high grade natural ingredients in their products. I was thrilled at the opportunity to test and review the brand that many celebrities swear by.

Disclaimer: Leonor Greyl provided me with free samples of this product to review and I was under no obligation to review it if I so chose. Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review in return for the free product.*

I received Shampooing Creme Moelle De Bambou, Huile De Palme and Masque A L'Orchidee.  These products are all specific to my hair type- to treat dry and frizzy hair. Now to get the full effect of these products you have to use it as a system. So I used the Huile De Palme first.

Huile De Palme- The oil has a light bergamont scent. In it's natural state it's suppose to be oil but temperatures below 75°  it turns into a solid. All you have to do is use your body heat to melt just enough to distribute through your hair or place the bottle in hot water for a minute or so. The oil is light and I only needed two capfuls to ensure my hair had coverage. I initially used my HairTherapyWrap and then slept with a plastic cap on overnight. This step is called Pre-poo (Pre-Shampoo Treatment). My hair felt softer and smelled incredible! I almost didn't want to wash it out.

Shampooing Creme Moelle De Bambou- I used a wide tooth comb to comb my hair to prepare to wash it with the shampoo. The shampoo I found needed to be shaken because there were two different hues and that might have been due to the ingredients separating. The shampoo also has a light bergamont scent and is light and creamy in texture. I only used two quarter size amounts and distributed throughout my hair. It seemed to work really well with the Huile De Palme. My hair felt even softer and clean. There was no need to wash it a second time. Nor did my hair feel oily or heavy.

Masque A L'Orchidee- After I used my hair turban to get most of the moisture out my hair, I then used the mask. It has a light peach scent (closest thing it resembles in my opinion). It's thick and spread a nice layer on my hair. Only needing a small scoop of it- it was sufficient enough to cover my entire head of hair. Using my trusty HairTherapyWrap, I conditioned my hair for 30 minutes. I used cool water to rinse to close the hair cuticles and promote shine. My hair was super soft!

Glow-These products are worth the price tag! They have perfected luxe haircare. Most haircare products with high dollar price tag don't have high quality natural ingredients like this brand. Another plus-they aren't skimpy! These containers contain enough to last you! On top of that plus is yet another one- you don't need to use a lot. There is nothing more frustrating than purchasing high dollar products like these and they don't last you. They give you your money's worth. That's ALWAYS a plus. The packaging is simple yet sleek. I was given FULL sized products. This company has been around for 40 years. That alone should tell you something.

Glare-The ONLY single glare I have about this line is the shampoo contains Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate. Otherwise it's a great shampoo, which didn't dry my hair out...

Overall Glam-TRY THIS LINE. Treat yourself. I swear on my martini glasses I was a bit skeptical but was floored by the results. I understand as a consumer sometimes the price tags on products tend to make us find less expensive and perhaps equally as good products (sometimes not) but the sheer fact that this line doesn't come in small 1oz containers leaving your pockets empty and only enough product to get MAYBE two uses is MIRACULOUS. I would definitely treat myself to this line and recommend you do the same. It's like a luxurious spa treatment in a bottle!

Merry Christmas Babbbbbby........

Merry Christmas!
I hope everyone's holiday is filled with cheer =)

So believe it or not, I'm not THAT festive but I did jazz it up a little bit for the holidays. I decided to get my nails done along with my pedi the other day. After breaking the cycle of NOT wearing polish in years I think its safe to say that I can see a nail obsession forming in my near future lol.

When I picked this color I initially thought it was silver but I fell so much more in love with it once they put it on. It actually comes out as a translucent silver/pink. I've NEVER got designs before on my nails but I just went for it this go round. The funny part is that I thought the nail technician asked if I wanted a "flower"??? But apparently she said a "tree"....it's pretty cute nonetheless. What do you think?

She even added little lights on it LOL...

As for the makeup I racked up on a few sale items from Sephora.

Crushed Velvet Eye kit by DuWop: The original price was $36 I got it on sale for $26. I love the colors in the eyeshadow trio (bright emerald, rosy gold and burgundy) they're perfect for the holiday! Also included was the Lash Venom Mascara & All Eye Intensifier Eyeliner.

Candy Paint Lipgloss by Carol's Daughter: The color is called "Bossy" It's a sparkly gold, doesn't really show up that great on my lips. I got it for $6. I kinda had a couple of gripes about this gloss. I'm not sure if it was "old" or what but when I tried to squeeze it out of the tube a bunch of clear oily stuff squirted out and I mean it was a LOT of it, I had to drain all of it before I could get to the color :-/ Also, it burned a little bit! WTF??? Not a winner...

I used a Tinted Moisturizer by Artistry for my foundation...

Enjoy the rest of your holiday!!!!!

Nurture My Body Review & Giveaway!

Disclaimer: Nuture My Body provided me with free samples of this product to review and I was under no obligation to review it if I so chose. Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review in return for the free product.*

When I received the package containing my samples of Nurture My Body I was pleasantly surprised. It was beautifully wrapped and included a beautiful handwritten note from the company president. The first thing I said was, "Wow, this is how a package is suppose to come!" The care and the thoughtfulness that went into the presentation told me something- Nurture My Body, down to the slightest detail; they put a lot of love and care into everything that they do.

I received a Moisturizing Shampoo (infused with Horsetail and Seaweed extract), Fragrance Free Conditioner (with Macadamia Nut Oil) and something I've always been wanting to try but hesitant about doing so- a Soothing Shampoo Bar (with Lavender Essential Oil). Also included was a cranberry colored woven drawstring bag.

Soon as you open the box, the contents smelled so good and spa like. I loved the cobalt blue bottles which help the a natural ingredients stay fresher longer. I had a tough decision to make. Use the Soothing Shampoo Bar or the Moisturizing Shampoo? So I went with the Shampoo Bar. As I lathered up, it dawned on me that this is a great alternative to taking a bottled shampoo while vacationing! With the liquid restrictions in effect, you could easily toss this into your luggage and whiz pass the security check point and not have to toss your beloved shampoo or worry about the cap becoming unsecured and ruining your clothes.

So off I went and washed my hair using the Soothing Shampoo Bar.  I lathered up two or three times and worked it into my hair. It smelled really good and cleaned my hair very well. I'll be the first to admit, I didn't think the shampoo would work because it's in bar form. It had good sudsing action so I didn't have to rub the bar forever to get enough lather for my hair. I repeated the cleansing and it washed out of my hair without any problem!

Next, I used the Fragrance Free Conditioner. It has a thick lotion like consistency and I used two quarter sized amounts to make sure my hair was covered. It was nice and creamy and washed out my without much effort.

Glow: Everything smelled great (for the exception of the Fragrance Free Conditioner- since it's unscented). I didn't get to use the Moisturizing Shampoo yet but if it's anything like the Shampoo Bar, then I'm sure I'll love it! The products contain all natural ingredients and no chemicals which is always a plus.

Glare: More like a caution- when I was washing my hair the runoff from my scalp got into my eyes and the shampoo burned my eyes something awful! Please use extra care so that this does not get into your eyes! The conditioner, although creamy and rich, I didn't notice any marked difference in my hair. I didn't really like the thick lotion consistency- it didn't emulsify well when I rubbed it in my hands to apply to my hair.

Overall Glam: These products are a must! It's handmade, fresh and contain natural ingredients. I was truly impressed with the care and effort that was taken to package my products. I look for small details like that because it tells me a lot about the company. You really can't wrong with products like these.

Hair Accessory Corner

We all know I'm not a stranger to hair accessories. I live for bows, flowers, veils, and whatever else I can come up with to add flavor to my hair. I wanted to share some of my more recent buys.

Heather Headband. (Forever 21)A very cute headband made of iridescent tafetta leaves and silk feathers.  $5.80  I bought one in a nice navy blue color.

Lace Chiffon Flora Bobby Pin. This cute little pin is made of colored chiffon and lace mesh paddles. I got this one in black for $1.50. Its so cute and great add on that you can put wherever you like! (Forever 21)

This is probably one of my favorite headbands because of the veil. I love veils lol.. Not for everyday wear but every blue moon, I find it cute. This was also a purchase at Forever21.
This is one of my favorite yet simple headbands. Nothing fancy about it, but shall add a little color to an outfit or great accessory when you don't feel like dealing with you hair.

This is probably one of my favorite headbands. I love the colors and I love the flower. Its not to small and not to big!

Future Headband Conquer
Deluxe Satin Headband. This great headband is is satin covered with a mesh bow arrangement. Its all kinds of craziness and sexiness and I need this! (Forever 21)

Ladies, don't be afraid to play around with hair accessories. You definitely don't have to go as far as me, but a little added something in your hair can top off any outfit or give you that little extra cute feel. If you are like me and just wear your hair Plain Jane (or as the older ladies like to call it "part to the side"), hair accessories can spice it up a little for you. These days you can go just about anywhere and get a cute little accessory for  the maximum of $10.

Glow Girl Weekend Warrior Glamour Finds Ep. 2

I found this on a jaunt to Walgreens. I LOVE body scrubs. Seriously, I do. What's so great and unique about this one is it's made of Oatmeal and Shea Butter. The consistency is almost like cocoa butter but when a little water is added it has low suds! You don't need to use a lot of this stuff and don't use on your face because it does contain fragrance which can irritate it. It hydrates your parched skin and is very gentle. Reasonably priced at $7.99 a lot of bang for your buck! I'm definitely going to buy out the rest of the store stock...seriously.

I absolutely love the color blue! You could get me anything blue and unique and almost never go wrong. I was looking for some statement pieces while at Kohl's and found these ultra pretty rings by the stores brand Apt. 9. The first ring is a simulated Turquoise with Amethyst stones. The second ring is a very femme flower with blue crystals. The cool thing about both rings is it has a stretch band band. So no more cute rings that don't fit properly to leave them behind at the store! They were on sale and I copped them both for $13/ea.

Last but not least is NexFaze Hair Texturizer. I found this at Sally Beauty Supply AND it was on sale for $5! The blue goo on the inside smells great and you don't need but a small "finger scoop" full. Rub between your palms and distribute evenly through your hair. Leaves your hair so soft and enhances your curls and waves! It's regularly priced at $7.99.
