Gimme That Glow DevaCurl Giveaway & Review!

I had the opportunity to try out DevaCurl Low-Poo Cleanser, Heaven in Hair and B'Leave-In.  I was so siked about trying out this brand because of their Low-Poo and No-Poo shampoos. I was curious to see how could something without "detergent" or so little of it clean my hair? What's even BETTER is that this has none of the icky stuff (namely Sulfates and Silicones) to dry and weigh down your hair! Not only does Deva have products for curly hair, they also have shampoo for color treated and chemically processed hair! To give you the inside look, I listed the ingredients as they are listed on the products. DevaCurl Low Poo 

Ingredients: Aqueous Extracts of: Achilea Millefolium, Chamomilla Recutta (Matricaria), Cymbopogon Schoenanthus, Humulus Lupulus (Hops), Melissa Offcinalis (Balm Mint), Rosmariunus Offcinalis (Rosemary), Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Propylene Glycol, PEG-75 Lanolin, PEG-40 Hydrongenated Castor Oil, PEG-7 Amodimethicone, Polyquaternium-10, Hydroxyethycellulose, Polyquaternium-7, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Sodium Hydroxide, Fragrance.

Glow: This product contains no Sulfates! Smells oh so yummy; scented with Starfruit and Mango.  Low- Poo gets it's low sudsing action from coconut. Contains no artificial color.

Glare: It contains Parabens.

Overall Glam: I never experienced shampoo with consistency like this before. It has a gel like feel and very low suds but my hair felt clean after the first wash. It didn't feel heavy and didn't take long to rinse out. I wash again just because (chuckle).





DevaCurl Heaven In Hair

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Esters, Glycol Distearate, Polyquaternium-7, Centrimonium Chloride, Behentrimonium Chloride, Ceteareth-20, Quarternium-82, Hydroxyethycellulose, Theobroma Cacao (Cocao) Seed Butter, Theobroma Grandiflorum (Cupuacu) Seed Butter, Astrocaryum (Murumuru) Seed Butter, Melissa Offcinalis (Balm Mint) Extract, Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus, (Lemongrass) Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricia) Extract, Rosmarinus Offcinalis (Rosemary) Extract, Achillea Millefollum (Yarrow) Extract, Polyquaternium-10, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Propylene Glycol, Citric Acid, Diazolidnyl Urea, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbarmate, Fragrance (Parfum), Blue 1, Yellow 5.

Glow: The scent is fresh and spa like. The consistency is like a cold cream but so rich you don't need a lot. I used two small scoops and it was enough to cover my hair. The instructions say to leave on for 10 minutes. I left it on for an hour and a half! I used a heating cap (see above pic) for deep conditioning (and if you check back I'll be dishing more on this cap!) After rinsing first with warm water then with cool/cold (to seal the cuticles to promote shine!) water, I used my handy hair turban (EVERY glow girl must own one of these!) to get my hair semi-dry. I noticed my hair had more curl definition than I had in the past with other shampoo/conditioners.

Glare: NONE!

Overall Glam: I loved the fact that it was rich and smelled great. My hair was super soft and it enhanced my curl definition!

DevaCurl B'Leave-In


Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric, Glycerides, Guar Hydropropyltrimonium, Chloride, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Propylene Glycol, Triticum Aestivum (Wheat) Peptide, Avena Sativa (Oat) Peptide, Glycine Soja (Soy) Peptide, Melissa Offcinalis (Balm Mint) Extract, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus (Lemongrass) Extract, Chamomilla Recrutita (Matricia) Extract, Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow) Extract, Diazolidinyl Urea, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Fragrance (Parfum).

Glow: The scent (yeah, I know- AGAIN?!) is light yet smells great. It doesn't feel greasy or heavy. I only needed just a little bit to distribute throughout my hair.

Glare: NONE!

Overall Glam: I let my hair air dry (which I normally do) and felt like there wasn't any product in my hair. It didn't feel weighted down, sticky- nothing. That's how products should feel and work for your hair. Best of all, it didn't prolong my dry time!

I LOVE these products! They are going to be part of my arsenal in haircare! Not only did it clean and hydrate my hair it enhanced my little corkscrew curls (it's getting there!)
