'Tini Nails, Lips & Eyes Never Looked So Good!

While the title of this post sounds down right conceited and self absorbed, it's not about me....well sort of.

Disclaimer: Nail/Lip Tini provided me with free samples of this product to review and I was under no obligation to review it if I so chose. Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review in return for the free product.*

I was UBER thrilled when I found out that this company shared my moniker, "Tini." Even better their product line is full of drunken fun (minus the hangover)! Naturally I LOVED the 'Tini concept for lips and nails. I got to try out:

Nailtini Mini Bar "Bloody Mary You Call It"

Nailtini Nail Garnish

Liptini "Wallbanger"

Liptini- Spiced Rum

The Nailtini was by far the most fun I've had with polish! For this review, I painted, removed, painted, Garnished, removed...and so on! I only have so many fingers! The mini bar I received has Bloody Mary, Espresso Mixer, Vodka and Spritzer. The Bloody Mary you can wear as a stand alone color. It's one of 29 shades in the Nailtini bar stock. The Vodka is the clear top coat. The Espresso Mixer is a stand alone color OR use it as a base to deepen and intensify color. The Spritzer is a glitter-gold finish.

Here are a couple of looks using the Blood Mary You Call It:

Bloody Mary w/ Vodka

Espresso w/Spritzer

The polish was smooth and dried quickly. It went on in a nice even thin layer.

Nailtini also has toppers (finishes) that I didn't get to try but they are waaaaaay cool!

(left to right-Toppers: "Blue Flame," "Gold Haze,"On The Rocks")
(Left Lip: Blue Flame; Right Lip: On The Rocks)

The toppers and mixer you can use with ANY nail polish! Toppers aren't only limited to the nail polish; the lip collection has their own toppers! The mini bar isn't skimpy either. Each bottle contains plenty for tons of applications! Along with the mini bar is the Garnishes! Seven stencils in all you can create numerous and playful looks!

No look is complete without LIPS! The Wallbanger is ooh so yummy! It has a red lip stain on one end (with sponge applicator) and tinted orange gloss on the other end (with brush applicator).

The gloss is scented and smells DELISH (has a citrus orange scent)! I literally had to keep myself from trying to lick my lips. The stain, I deepened it using a red lip liner because the stain doesn't show up that great on my lips. You can see a faint tinge of red. (It most certainly will not deter me from using it!) I will suggest using a lip primer to make sure your lips are smooth and the stain doesn't settle in your lip lines distorting the color.

Last but not least is the Spiced Rum. It too has a sponge applicator and is a nice bronze brown.
I absolutely LOVE the bronze brown color and it's perfect for my complexion. I think it works best with a primer to help it not get lost in the creases of your eyelid. I applied first by the applicator sponge then used my pinky finger to smooth it out across the lid. It has a nice sheen without it being overly shiny. I absolutely LOVE this color!

For this look I applied eyeshadow primer, highlighter on the brow bone and Spiced Rum on the entire lid. Then lined my eye with black
liquid liner. It's so pretty!

Glow: I love it because it bears my moniker! *Does running man* I love the play on everything Martini for these products right down to the "Cocktail Napkins" (nail polish remover pads!) This product line and I were a match made in heaven. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Glare: *Whispers* Wish the nail polishes were yummy scented too.

Overall Glam: I LOVE IT! This is perfect for the nail junkie and the girl who loves to change up her look in a very "Cosmopolitan" way. There are so many "cocktails" to chose from the choices are virtually endless! A true junkie would collect EVERYTHING in this product line! MUST HAVE!!!
***BONUS!!!!***
With every order you'll receive a free mini gift item AND every 10th person to purchase will win "Double Fisted" Pinksicle!

Stocked with matching Straight Up Color nail lacquer and lipstick in baby pink Chi Chi, plus matching Topper top coat and gloss in clear shine Vodka.

Make sure you enter coupon code "BLUEMARTINI" when checking out and the code is good through 4/1/10. So go have a "drink" on me!

Glamour Gimme: Shop How You Want, For What You Want

Scenario: It's gift giving time, whether it be Christmas, Anniversary, Birthday, etc. You get handed an envelope. Your eyes light up. It could be one of two things: cash money or a gift card. Either way you score because it's MONEY. You open up the envelope and see a gift card to Miss Nancy's Floral Shop.

Yeah, you're pretty disappointed. What the hell were they thinking? You don't even like flowers! You manage a smile and think to yourself, "Man, I wish this was a Bloomingdales gift card instead!" I'm here to tell you it's possible! There's a service called Plastic Jungle. They take those unwanted gift cards and turn them in for cards you can USE! I kid you not this service exists! It's the BEST thing that could have EVER happened to those useless gift cards you receive!

This is how the service works:

You go to their site and click on Sell Cards. Then enter the merchant name and the amount on the card. Now the minimum limit you HAVE to have on a card is $25. Then click on See Offers. You'll be offered cash or the opportunity to purchase another card from a different vendor. After you've made your selection, you fill out your personal information and print a pre-paid addressed label to mail in the card you're looking to get rid of. After they receive the card and verify the funds on the card they send you the cash or the gift card you selected! Another great thing about this service is they also give you the option to donate your gift card balance to a charity of your choice! You can also BUY gifts cards at less their face value! So you go from something that you wanna lose to something you can USE!

This is sooooo perfect for the die hard Glow Girl Shopaholic. If you want to learn more about Plastic Jungle, please visit their site at http://www.plasticjungle.com/

Get That Caffeine Fix For.....Your Hair?

Can you imagine making a cup of coffee for yourself AND your hair to quench that caffeine urge? There is a new product made by Greensations calledThermaScalp. It's a natural scalp therapy that increases:

  • Follicle blood flow
  • Healthy hair growth
It also relieves:
  • Dryness and itching
  • Dandruff and irritation
It contains Caffeine, Capsicum, Olive leaf, Saw Palmetto and Nettle Extracts. I don't know about you but I was siked when I heard about this and received it to try out and review. I have a great appreciation for caffeine-more than you know.

First off it's all natural which is always plus. The scent is a cross between soda and spicy peppers. The "spicy" is the Capsicum (found in peppers). The instructions call for spraying ThermaScalp on your scalp and hair, rubbing it into your scalp; you can use it as a pre-poo or post-poo treatment. After I applied to my scalp after a couple of minutes my scalp began to feel warm. No tingling- but no itching. I left it on for about an hour and washed my hair. I've used it several times leaving it in my hair whenever I got the "itchies." Seems to work fine.

Then there is the ThermaSkin that works the same way on the scalp but for the skin. It's moisturizing and immediately stops skin irritation. One day my ankle was itching really bad and I sprayed some of the ThermaSkin on it and rubbed it in and almost immediately the itching stopped...and the irritation didn't return!

Glow: They both seem to work so far. I know I'm not going to see immediate results but I couldn't believe how it ceased the itching! Especially with an ingredient from peppers! Who knew? The ThermaSkin smells like cross between aloe vera and cucumber....very refreshing! Best of all, it's 100% natural!

Glare: The ThermaScalp I found you have to be careful in application because if you happen to inhale some of the mist while applying it will cause some throat irritation. So be careful! It doesn't smell as good as the ThermaSkin.

Overall Glam: You can't beat an all natural way to boost healthy hair and soothe your skin. I'm fascinated by caffeine, something near and dear to my heart that can help hair growth! ThermaScalp and ThermaSkin is definitely worth a try!

Pur Minerals Product Review

Disclaimer: Pur Minerals provided me with free samples of this product to review and I was under no obligation to review it if I so chose. Nor was I under any obligation to write a positive review in return for the free product.*

We all want a nice flawless look when applying our cosmetics whether it be over the top or very subtle. To achieve any flawless look you always need a  great base to start with.

Pur Minerals Mineral Moisture Infusion

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Cyclomethicone, Butylene Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Dimethicone, Oleth-20, Acrylates / C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Polysorbate 20, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Lilium Candidum Bulb Extract, Lithium Hydroxide, Magnesium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Aluminium Chloride, Copper Sulfate, Manganese Chloride, Sodium Chloride, Gold Chloride, Cobalt Chloride, Lysine, Triethanolamine, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Annatto, Carmine
What it claims:
Soothes tired, stressed skin.
Gives dehydrated skin intense moisture.
Provides antioxidant protection.
Free of chemical dyes.
What it did for me:

After washing my face every evening, I applied the Infusion.  It's plasma like and really has no scent. For the first couple of days I really didn't notice any difference. I was starting to think this stuff doesn't work. I decided to continue to use for a while longer as my nightly routine. Surprisingly I did start noticing subtle results. My skin looked great when waking up in the morning. As you know often times your skin can look dry and drawn upon waking. It absorbs fairly quickly and isn't greasy. Although the jar is on the small side- the plus is that it lasts a while because you only need a small amount.

Pur Minerals Pur Rocks

Ingredients: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Magnesium Aluminum, Silicate, Dimethicone, Glyceryl Stearate, Silica, Chlorphenesin, Potassium Sorbate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Xanthan Gum, Tetrasodium EDTA, Methicone, Mica (C.I.77019), Titanium Dioxide (C.I.77891), Iron Oxides (C.I.77491, C.I.77492, C.I.77499), Tin Oxide (C.I. 77861), Carmine (C.I.75470), Manganese Violet (C.I. 77742)

What it claims:
Add depth, dimension and drama to your look with pressed, micronized minerals in a unique, 3-dimensional design! Multi-tasking PĂ¼r Rocks enhance and brighten eyes, lips and cheeks with a dose of luminous colour. Vibrant, organic jewel tones of garnet and pink zircon capture the splendor of a desert sunset, illuminating the face with shimmering, rosy undertones.

What it did for me:

The first day I applied it I did on bare face and it gave me a soft brightened look. I then tried it with two types of foundation- mousse and stick. Looks better with mousse. There can be a number of reasons why but it is what it is. I loved the rosey glow it gave me.

Glow: The moisturizer after a little over a week started showing subtle results. It kept my skin hydrated overnight and the Pur Rocks gave me a rosey glow.

Glare: The moisturizer contains Parabens. And I did notice two abrasions on my face. They didn't appear until after I started using the moisturizer and when I stopped they were gone. Now I don't know if I had irritation on my face prior to using the moisturizer. That was my experience.

Overall Glam: Overall I like the products. The moisturizer, although it works, I'm being cautious if I continue use. If these "abrasions" show up again I will discontinue use and move on. The Pur Rocks is definitely a keeper-proved it can be wore alone or over makeup.

The Lip Routine

Ladies, so often we all take so much time focusing on our foundation and eye shadows and etc, but forget about lips. We should all create a lip routine that works well with your style and your lip formation.  Today I shared my lip routine. I like a more basic lip look, which I recommend for fuller lips.

I started with a basic lip balm, for me its all about Chapstick. No matter what you use before putting on your lipstick/lip gloss, make sure you put something on to the protect your lips and give them that added moisture and shine.

Next, I used a lipstick to give me a nice strong color. For this look, I used Mac Frost. Its a goldish brown, not too dark nor light. What I love about the decision to use lipstick is the way lipsticks creates such a strong look for full lips.

Lastly, I put a lip gloss on. I like to give my lips an added shine, but not too glossy. I used a Sephora lip gloss with a shimmery tone.

Whatever you decide for your lip routine, make sure its something that defines your personality rather dark or lighter. Keep your lips healthy and they will continue to shine for you!!!

Product Review: Madame Madeline's Fab Lashes

Well, its been a minute since I experimented with lashes and you may remember my very first eyelash experience. Ever since then I've been itching to give it another shot and lucky me stumbled across Madame Madeline's fab site which features tons of various types of lashes. They have such a wide selection and a girl could literally spend all day picking out the perfect set. There were three in particular that caught my eye right away. Lets see how they worked out for me below.

 Ultra Lashes by Ardell

$5.55

These lashes are made of 100% European Hair and feature a top set and a pair of lower lashes. I opted for the short & spiked versions #207.

I'm not gonna lie, the bottom lashes made me nervous right away!

The top lashes were very glamorous I liked them a lot. As for the bottom lashes, not bad, but I couldn't really get jiggy with them. I can't see myself wearing these out anywhere.

Accents Lashes by Ardell

$3.49

Half Lashes that enhance density along the outer edge of your lashline.

I love the way these ascenuated the outer lashes.

Not too over the top, very natural looking.

Another View...
(Excuse the breakout, my skin wasn't having an awesome day lol )

$6.50

These are also from the half lash collection and feature a set of natural lashes and a set with glitter.

The name alone drew me in instantly and check out the glittery set.

The glitter TERRIFIED me!!!! What if it gets in my eyes???

It actually went a little better than I expected...

They were a little over the top for my personal style, but not bad at all.

What It Claims:  To provide a large selection of high quality lashes with guarenteed low prices.

Likes: I love that they offer so many different types. Whether your looking for short, long, individual, custome or stage lashes; Madame Madeline has them ALL, not to mention the prices are VERY affordable.

Dislikes: Absolutlely none! What you see is whast you get, the products were very true to their photos and descirptions.

Would I Recommend It: Sure would! It's a one stop shop, they have EVERYTHING for your lash needs. Madam Madeline has such a variety to choose from. Even if the one's I tried aren't necessarily your taste, I know for sure you'd find something that is!

Overall: I definitely look forward to indulging in all of my lash needs at Madame Madeline. Make sure you check out the site here
