I'm always excited to try out products and this time was no different. I think a lot of the excitement stems from wanting to see great results. So when I received the Coco Mango Shea Butter and Hair Growth Formula I was all set to dive in.
The Coco Mango Shea Butter contains:
Ingredients: Shea (60%) Coconut & Mango butters. Sweet Almond, Cocoa, Castor, Grapefruit, Lavender & Olive oils. Vegetable Glycerine. Bees wax. Vitamin E, Xanthan & Guar gums. Natural Stearic Acid.Zea mays corn starch. Fragrance blend. The butter had a nice smooth velvety consistency and smelled great. I had just washed my hair and it was the perfect opportunity to use it for my two strand twist. Now I know you're saying but the label clearly says "BODY BUTTER." You're absolutely right. It does say that. However, it doesn't contain anything that cannot be used on your hair. I twisted my hair and notice immediately that my hair was soft and smelled great! It wasn't heavy or greasy and gave my hair a great shine. I used it on my ends several days later since my hair was exposed to the cold winter air.
The Growth Formula, is chocked full of moisturizing ingredients:
Avocado, Castor, Egyptian Blend, Grapefruit, Jojoba, Lavender, Olive, Rosemary and Sweet Almond oils. Blueberry extract, Vegetable Glycerine, Vitamin E, Spring water, FragranceI didn't use the oil on my entire head of hair. I strand tested to see what results it would yield. The Formula goes a long way. You only need a very small amount- so don't go crazy with this stuff! To be honest, it doesn't smell that great. The scent is extremely strong. The rosemary is very prevalent. Now I understand to purpose is to moisturize your hair and not to make it smell great...but smelling great helps. It is a little "slick." I think this is best used on your ends and can be great for sealing them. I wouldn't advise applying this directly on the scalp especially if you're prone to dandruff. The strands that I tested to the touch didn't feel overly greasy or weighed down. The scent actually calmed down as well. It left the strand manageable.
Glow: I loved the butter and so did my hair. It left it soft and shiny. The formula worked great on my ends for the strand test. I love that it's all natural ingredients.
Glare: I did not like the scent of the formula oil. Too strong.
Overall Glam: Overall, I would recommend these products. However, note that they are listed in Euro/British pound (although you can see what it costs in USD) and what you may pay for it today may not be the price a month from now. The price is based on current exchange rate. I'd suggest purchasing in bulk to save money. Good thing is a little bit of this stuff goes a long way...
