D.I.Y. Valentine's Day Love Scrub

Valentine's is right around the corner and let's face it, not all of us are really into spending big bucks for the special occasion. Whether you're looking forward to an evening with your honey or just a day of pampering yourself, I think I've stumbled across the perfect remedy.

I actually spotted this "Love Scrub" in this months issue of Essence Magazine. The original ingredients called for the following...

Ingredients
4 cups of Epsom or Dead Sea Salts
6 Strawberries
½ cup of almond, jojoba, sunflower or grapeseed oil
5 drops of chocolate essential oil

However, I'm a believer in making due with what you have. So I substituted the oils for a bottle of Jasmine Oil that I had sitting around the house for years and it hadn't even been opened. Also, I had no clue what "chocolate essential oil" was and I knew I didn't want to make an extra trip just to go search for it, so I opted out and decided to stick with what I had.

The directions are very simple. All you have to do is blend the strawberries and the oil together, then combine them in a separate bowl with the Salts. I really enjoyed doing this because it gave me an excuse to use my favorite blender in the world....."The Ninja" *smirks*

I wish there was a way for you guys to scratch & sniff your computer screens and experience the smell of this stuff for yourself  because it's oh so heavenly! The best part about making your own scrub is that you can customize it according to your preferences. Between the natural strawberries, the Jasmine Oil and the Almond Sea Salts that I used, I think I found my perfect scent!

Looks kinda like a slushie....

The texture of the scrub felt so good...

It also left my skin feeling incredibly soft!

So who's gonna try it out? Make sure you let me know if you do, I'd love to hear about your experience!
