I know I say this in almost every makeup related post but I have oily skin and I HATE IT !!! And I'm not just referencing a shiny t-zone here, my face gets excessively oily. If you're a fellow oily girl, then you know that finding a primer that fights against the absorption of your makeup is not exactly an easy task. I've tried a few different primers and most recently I've been researching ones that are specifically formulated for oily skin.
bareMinerals has a primer called Prime Time Oil Control, which claims to put an end to midday shininess. It's designed for oily, sensitive, and problem-prone skin, it's also clinically proven to control excess shine. It's silicone- and oil-free and promotes evenly textured, shine-free coverage all day.
bareMinerals Prime Time "Oil Control" Foundation Primer
Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Modified Corn Starch, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Zinc PCA, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Anisate, Silica, Calcium Silicate, Sclerotium Gum, Citric Acid
Glare: The smell is a little awkward but nothing unbearable. I haven't met a primer yet that actually smells great though lol. Also, after about 3 hours I had a little shine building up in my t-zone area and had to powder my face a little. While I didn't remain shine free the entire day, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't need a touch up until 3 hours had passed. That alone says a lot because normally my makeup starts to absorb within an hour.
Would I Recommend It? YES! It's the first time my face has felt so smooth after applying a primer.
Overall Glam: It works and I will definitely continue to use it. While it doesn't last all day for someone who's as excessively oily as I am, It does do a pretty darn good job at controlling the oil for the most part. Which is huge in comparison to what I'm used to!
** The Prime Time Oil Control currently retails for $21. To purchase or to learn more please visit www.bareescentuals.com .

Great review...I'm an oily chic too, so this might be worth a try for me as well. I'm not too happy about that price though. lol Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, the price is a bit steep especially with being so small lol
ReplyDeleteI am sure I will love this with my oily skin ..though perhaps using it when there's special occasions only... because the price is a bit too much for me...
