This is probably one of the first times that I've been SO ready for Summer to get here already! Winter is normally my favorite season but this one has been a brutal one and after a few days of pretty Spring weather here in Atlanta, we've backtracked right back into the cold :o(
Meanwhile I've been keeping warm and I've also been checking out lots of the new Spring/Summer Nail Polish Collections and I must say that I'm excited! While checking out some of the top brands I was reminded of Essie's Resort Collection, which was introduced last year, Summer 2010. It consists of four cream finished shades. I've wanted to try this collection for quite awhile now because it's always caught my attention.
Turquoise & Caicos
A flirty and pretty tropical aqua
Splash of Grenadine
A playful magenta pink
Lapis of Luxury
A dreamy ocean blue

Playa Del Platinum

Glow: I love each color! There are very few collections where every color gets my approval but this one stands out. They're so vibrant! My favorite color out of the four is with out a doubt " Turks & Caicos ", it's a mint green that's so soft and intriguing.
Glare: They can be a bit streaky and not the easiest to get smooth coverage on the first attempt. You almost have to use a technique to get the polish to apply evenly which is still kinda tricky with the small brush.
Would I Recommend It? Yes! The colors are gorgeous and full of effortless shine.
Overall Glam: While this is a rather small collection and I would've loved to have seen more colors; I've also gotta admit that I am very pleased. Each shade stands out within its own right and they are very summery, not too bright and the names are adorable! They definitely put me in a "tropical" mindset.
** These colors are still available at selected retailers. I've seen them at Ulta. Each polish retails for about $8 each. To find locations near you, visit www.essie.com/shop .
