Anastasia | Illumin8 Eye Shadow Palette | Review + Swatches

I love eyeshadow, and one thing that's sure enough to have me in a self induced makeup coma is even more eyeshadow! Variety is definitely key when it comes to picking out shades that work best for me. Which is also why I'm a huge fan of eyeshadow palettes because I love to have the option to choose and mix things up without having to use a bunch of different products.

Anastasia Beverly Hills has the perfect solution to satisfy my current obsession, the Illumin8 Eyeshadow Palette. This palette features 8 stunning shimmery shades. It comes complete with a Mini Professional Brush for easy application. One side of the Mini Professional Brush is designed for applying color over the lid or brow bone, while the other side is ideal for applying shades wet or dry as a liner or to the crease.

So what's unique about this palette is that it's actually formulated to act like skincare. It contains a Youthful Synergy Complex which includes anti-aging ingredients that hydrate and revitalize the appearance of the skin.

An up close look at each shade.

Swatches

A look I created using a few of the colors.

Glow: These shadows are sooooooo smooth! They are easy to apply and blend effortlessly. I really love the duo color combinations because they give you more of an option for creating different looks. The brush included in the palette is also surprisingly decent and effective. I also love that this palette is compact and includes a mirror. That definitely makes it easy for travel.

Glare: They're a little on the sheer side and for someone like me with excessively oily skin that will eventually pose a problem in terms of lasting throughout the day. Which is why I'd definitely recommend using some type of eye primer or base on top of your lid before applying the eyeshadow. I normally use NYX's jumbo milk pencils in white for a base. It allows the colors to pop.

Would I Recommend It? Yes!

Overall Glam: The Illumin8 Eyeshadow palettes can be used wet or dry. I haven't tried them wet yet and I actually can't wait to do so because from my experience using most shadows wet can have a huge effect on their pigment making them brighter & more vibrant. The Illumin8 Eyeshadow Palettes come in five different palette choices with various colors. They currently retail for $40 each and can be purchased online or at your local Sephora.
